Our Bio

Second Chances Red Listers (SCRL) was founded by Hayley J. Morgan, Director & Owner of the SCRL Corporation.

We are a donation-based Nonprofit Rescue dedicated & devoted to the livelihood & welfare of every animal we save.  We provide these wonderful furbabies the homes they so deserve, rescuing them from being Red Listed (placed on the euthanasia list) all across California.  We train & find them loving homes, offering these animals second chances & a furever family who adores them just as much as we do!

We believe that every animal deserves a FUREVER loving home that provides compassion, patience, love, care, safety, & treats them as specially as we know them to be from working with each animal.  Training these animals allows them to thrive and offers endless possibilities for the future with a greater chance of success with their adoptive family.  Through rescue, training, love, kindness, & patience, understanding, fostering, & adoption these animals can thrive.  Our team is committed to not only saving animals, pairing adopters with the animal that best suits their lives & vice versa.  In educating the public, we will persevere & in turn change the world for the better & create a brighter future for all.

Our Mission

We go to different pounds & shelters across California, including some of the most overcrowded, where the dogs are at higher risk of euthanasia for space.  We rehabilitate them, providing all of the tools they need to succeed, along with the loving care & patience they were missing before they reached our rescue. With over 12 years of experience, I work diligently with each animal to ensure they are not only ready behaviorally, but emotionally to join a new, worthy family they have long waited to meet & integrate successfully into their new furever home.  We offer these wonderful animals second chances to live the life they deserve.  Each animal matters & have their own personality. We ensure that we match every animal with adopters who will continue enriching their lives & allowing them to progress.

We want both our dogs, fosters, & adopters to thrive!

Projects

Our projects, rescue missions, and events focus on saving as many animals as possible through gathering the funds & resources to help countless lives. We not only work diligently to promote animal welfare, but we offer new, beautiful lives for these more than deserving animals.  We work tirelessly to ensure that these animals have a voice & a life worthy of them.

Empowering

Empowering Lives

Through our rescue, we not only enforce that animal welfare must be exceptional, but we act as a voice for these animals.  We protect them & ensure they are in an environment with people who will continue allowing them to reach their full potential.  The training allows for stability, growth, & offers more adoptive opportunities.  We work to ensure that the animal to human companionship is healthy & strong.  We aim to not only ensure our animals succeed, but our fosters and adopters, as well.  We offer various educational tools & information to help all of our adopters and fosters succeed, along with our animals.

Furthering One's Knowledge is Powerful

We provide the most recent, up to date & proven techniques for success with your new furmember of the family.  We offer supplies with our adoption and education to help enhance the quality of life & better the knowledge of those whom may not know some of the information in which we gather & learn through experience, working with thees beautiful animals.

We offer our animals, fosters, & adopters the resources & supplies needed to succeed.

We Stand Together As One. We Stand Strong.

We are working to enhance the community by helping animals find amazing homes & provide adopters with the animal they have been envisioning.

We believe that in offering support & resources, we can not only help build triumphing communities, but also persevere through whatever challenges may come our way and tackle them with resilience & tenacity.

We are devoted to making the world a better place & being the voice of these beautiful animals. We pour so much into each animal & bond with them so please treat them with the love, patience, understanding, and kindness they so entirely & fully, wholeheartedly deserve.

Not all dogs are as service dog trained as others, be sure to ask the level of SD training or obedience training your dog has acquired & possessed during their time at SCRL prior to the adoption process. All deposits are NR (nonrefundable). Fosters are given all tools they need. Foster to adopts require a deposit of $300 & some select supplies chosen by the SCRL Director are provided re our thorough adoption contract where we cover all bases and check off every box possible before finalizing any contract. Deposits go toward the adoption of the SCRL animal. If an animal does not work out with your family during foster to adopt and you choose a different animal with the rescue the deposit used for a different SCRL dog can be used toward the other dog in the SCRL rescue you choose to adopt. If for some reason the adoption does not work, please return the animal to us so we can find the best possible placement. We track our animals from life to afterlife making sure the animals and their families are thriving and continuing to progress. Please note adoption prices are adjusted for anyone over 65 years old as well as veterans & anyone who has served in the military or first responders, we do verify with Driver's License & check all facts for accuracy and quality assurance purposes to always be kept confidential and on file privately held by the SCRL Director. Depending on the background check we conduct & all paperwork filled out timely, the adoption process can take anywhere from 3 days-7 days. We pride ourselves in being a great rescue to our rescue babies & assisting people in finding the pet or pets (dog, puppy, cat, or kitten) of their dreams. We love Pupdates on your dog you adopt or Kitty updates when you adopt a cat. We also provide animal history, shots, vaccinations, 2-3 favorite toys per animal, 2-3 days of food & altering (spay or neuter). Each animal has their own little care package and personalized diet & special instructions to go home with you. We make ourselves available for any fosters, FTA (Foster To Adopt), or Adopters. There are Add-ons, which you can buy at a lesser cost through the rescue (harness, leash, litter box, scooper, blanket, puppy pads) available while supplies last or are in stock. Food (for non-sensitive stomach dogs) is discounted for life, as well.
